Your Partner in Navigating Elder Care

Doctor of Nursing Practice · 26+ years with older adults

For decades I have walked alongside families through the triumphs and the avoidable challenges of caring for an aging loved one. My mission is simple: to help our older family members live longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives — safe in their own homes.

My “Why”: A Personal Journey

My passion for elder care began long before I stepped into a clinical setting—it began at home. Growing up, I was fortunate to have my maternal grandmother live with us. She was funny, a wonderful storyteller, and a constant source of joy. When my parents studied abroad for two years, she stayed with us, creating memories I will never forget. From her helping me on my first day of school to the native dishes she prepared that still make me salivate today, those years were a gift.

Today, as I watch my own parents age, I see the priceless joy that comes from the bond between them and their grandchildren. It is an experience I believe every child and family deserves to have.

Unfortunately, I have also witnessed the other side of this journey. Having worked extensively with older adults and their families in nursing homes and hospitals, I have seen both the triumphs and the avoidable challenges that families face. I’ve witnessed how many common health crises—such as sudden infections, complications from medication management, and manageable chronic condition flare-ups—often lead to unnecessary hospitalizations. I have seen friends lose parents to health issues that were otherwise preventable.

These experiences—both the beautiful memories and the heartbreaking losses—shaped my mission: to ensure our older family members live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

My mission is to bridge the knowledge gap, empowering you with the tools to shift from reactive care to proactive prevention—keeping your loved ones safe, healthy, and in their own homes longer.

Why Proactive Care Matters: Avoiding Unnecessary Hospitalizations

Many of the health issues older adults face are considered “ambulatory care sensitive,” meaning they are often manageable or preventable with proper primary care, home monitoring, and caregiver education. By staying observant, you can often intervene before a minor issue becomes an emergency.

Why I Created GeriSpace

I believe that every older adult deserves to live a healthy, dignified, and independent life in their own home for as long as possible.

I have sat with family members, friends, and colleagues who were struggling to navigate the complexities of elder care, and I realized that with the right information, many of the hurdles families face can be avoided or managed more effectively.

I created GeriSpace to empower caregivers through education—providing you with the clinical insights and practical tools needed to better support your elderly loved ones in their golden years. Whether you are a caregiver looking for support or an older adult wanting to stay healthy, you aren’t just getting medical advice here; you are getting a partner who understands the clinical reality and the deep, emotional value of keeping our loved ones at the center of our families.
